faith feeds l.a. in april
Faith Feeds L.A. is an interfaith canned food drive made possible through cooperation with the temples, churches, and mosques, all over southern california. All the food goes to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and then on to feed the homeless and working poor.

This particular outreach program is a project of MWB's los angeles chapter but is also intended to be a model for future food drives in other cities and regions.

getting ready for re-launch
Our free, online, introductory peace studies course is almost ready for it's re-launch. You can see the new site, it's more attractive layout, and richer multimedia options at: www.PeaceCourse.org

Taking this course, learning all you can from it, and applying it in your own life and work is your opportunity to become part of this great chain of peacemakers that extends accross time.
First you get a quick historical overview of when and why nonviolence works. Then you will see how the golden rule spans nearly all religious traditions. As you progress in the lessons you will learn:
- axioms of nonviolence
- how vision is more important than sight
- that human nature is not inherently violent

our outreach office is moving

Thanks to an incredibly generous donation by advisory council member, Rev. Janet Bregar, we are relocating our outreach office from Orange County to Los Angeles.
Along with the donated office space comes the use of larger facilities including a conference room, banquet hall, and interfaith temple, formerly the chapel of a old Lutheran Church.
Now called "The Village" and/or "The Village Church", this interfaith center has worship servcies and workshops for Musilms, Christians, Jews, and more. Conversion of the property into an interfaith center happened earlier this year, and in some regards is still underway.
The directors of the center, and of Monks Without Borders, see us moving into this space as mutually beneficial for growing our capacity to serve the community.
This new space will allow for many interfaith programming possibilities including: study groups, movie screenings, sacred music concerts, a guest lecturer series, and various special events.

MUSEUM MASTER PLANNING
The nation's premiere museum architecture and development firm, Verner Johnson, have offered to fly a small team of their best master planners out to meet with us, for several days of museum planning meetings.

The focus of the meetings will be on finishing a museum proposal fit for presentation to the white house office of faith based initiatives, and for use in grant applications and other fundraising appeals.
